This is the first lot of left over scraps on my desk. Very simple design, might try in some other colours.

Using Scraps
Well as my craft room becomes more organised it is time to start getting rid of scraps. Like most paper crafters I find it difficult to throw away perfectly good (and sometimes amazingly beautiful) piece of DSP left over from projects.
I have cut off all 6" x 6" pieces to sell in my end of year retired sell out. The rest I need to either use of get rid of. Over the coming month I will post ideas that I find.
BTW these scraps are REALLY old, some old Stampin Up, Kaisercraft and My Minds Eye!!!!
Scrapbooking and Cardmaking crop day.
Tomorrow I am going to my first scrapbooking and cardmaking crop day in about 7+ years. I was a previous scrapbooker who went every Friday night to one.
I have since become a card maker, although with Project Life joining forces with Stampin Up I may get all those photos and memoribilia into something worth looking at.
The day has a competition sketch, and have been told I can use the sketch to make a card. Was a little hard tranfering a scrapbook sketch to a card, but I ended up creating something completely different to anything else I have previously done.
Another card gift pack
This week I was starting to sort through all the beautiful DSP from Stampin Up that is about to retire and I came across a fresh pack of the Quatrefancy Specialty. I just love the colours in this and have been itching to use the printed window sheet in a box (the catalogue was my inspiration for this).
I wasn't really overly happy with the previous card pack I had planned for a workshop next week and felt inspired to go for a completely different look.
I am so happy with how this pack turned out and it will make a great gift to have in my stash. After making the first three cards I was thinking of the forth card and I have Carli to thank for it. I cased a beautiful thank you card she made for me and it fit perfectly with this set. So great to have freinds with ideas to inspire us (or copy....hehehe).

Using the positive and negative die cuts
When making these cards I originally had the idea for a card with a negative die cut. After making I realised I needed to use the positive as well, way too pretty to throw away.
The 'Stay calm and be Awesome' card incorperates some of the new Stampin Up stamps, love this sentiment.
Card gift pack
This pack is for a card night in a couple of weeks. Colours are Blushing Bride, So Saffron. Sky Blue and Pistachio Pudding
The envelope punch board is so handy for making items like this. I used it to make both the envelopes and the gift box, love it!

Hardwood Stamp
It is hard to go past the Hardwood stamp in the Stampin Up catalogue. It is a classic and I can't imagine it ever not having a place in my stamp collection. If you haven't got one I recommend getting one while you can. I am pretty sure it will be around for a while, but you never know when it will be retired! It is so versitile.
Card Making night
Some monday nights I have some friends over for a night of card making. I look forward to these each time, it is always an awesome night. This will be the group of cards we will be making on the next night.

Simple elegant Sympathy Card
Today I needed a sympathy card. Looking through cards I felt drawn to sympathy cards that were simple and elegant. This is what I came up with.

On film Framelits
This card is a bit of fun. I was a little apprehensive about the framelits but Stampin' Up have made sure they are easy to get out and I didn't have to use baking paper with it.
Being a fun card I used lots of colours and extended past the coordinating colours for the paper. This happened because I did the card in reverse and made the embellishment first and then realises it needed a fun patterened paper behind it. I might try and make this card again and use all the designer paper cordinating paper colours and compare the results!
Perfect Pennants and watercolouring
Embossing the sentiment from Perfect Pennants on water colour paper and using my aquapainter and reinkers the sentiment comes to life. Papers are Venetian Romance from the current 2013/14 catalogue.
Fancy Foil Designer Vellum
As soon as I saw the Fancy Foil Designer paper and gold bakers twine they were on my 'must have' list. The stamp set in this card is the new Perfect Pennants, also in the products available in the catalogue ready for purchase at the end of January 2014.
New Papers and Stamps for 2014
This is some new Watercolor Wonder designer paper. The coordinating colour for this paper is Tangarine Tango, but I found for a softer effect the Crisp Canteloupe was a perfect partner,

Rich Razzleberry
Today I started playing with Rich Razzleberry. Love the colour, another favourite colour to add to the list. Unfortunately the photo doesn't really show that the sentiment is embossed in silver which really adds the finishing touch.
February card night 2
This is a mixed bunch for Monday night cards. With the little gift card we will make an envelope using the punch board. The top card is a great way to use up scraps.
February card night
This will be the first card night in February. I made a coupler of more'girly'version of one of the cards.
Some of the papers are from the Sale-a-bration promotion available with qualifying orders from the end of January 2014 for a limited time.
